Pocket ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about how your data is handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws.

2. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data on the following legal bases under GDPR Article 6(1):

• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — when you enable optional features such as AI cloud processing, Health access, Reminders access, Calendar access, or iCloud sync

• Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to provide core app functionality

• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — minimal anonymized telemetry for app reliability and performance

Health data is processed only with your explicit consent in accordance with GDPR Article 9(2)(a).

3. Data We Collect and Process

3.1 Telemetry Data

We may collect minimal anonymized technical telemetry to maintain and improve app performance. This data:

• does not identify you

• contains no personal content

• includes only technical metrics (e.g., crash or performance data)

Legal basis: legitimate interest.

3.2 Chat Data

If iCloud sync is enabled:

• chats are stored in your personal iCloud account

• encrypted by Apple

• inaccessible to us

Apple’s iCloud privacy terms apply.

3.3 On-Device Processing

By default, Pocket processes content locally on your device. This may include:

• text you enter

• images or files you select

• locally stored context data

This data remains on your device unless you activate AI cloud processing.

Legal basis: contractual necessity.

3.4 AI Cloud Processing (Optional Feature)

Pocket provides optional AI features that may use secure cloud processing.

Only if you explicitly enable AI cloud processing, selected content may be transmitted to third-party AI providers to generate responses.

3.4.1 Data That May Be Sent to AI Providers

Depending on enabled permissions and feature use, the following data may be transmitted:

• text prompts and chat messages

• contextual information you choose to include

• data you allow from connected apps:

  • Health app data (any categories you grant access to)

  • Reminders content

  • Calendar events and metadata

Health data may include any category authorized by you in the Health permission dialog.

We transmit only the data necessary to provide the requested AI functionality.

3.4.2 AI Providers

When AI cloud processing is enabled, data is sent to:

• TogetherAI (AI inference provider)

These providers process data solely to generate AI responses for Pocket and are contractually required to provide privacy protections equivalent to ours.

3.4.3 User Control and Consent

AI cloud processing is strictly optional:

• disabled by default

• activated only after your consent in the app

• revocable anytime in Settings

If disabled, Health, Reminders, Calendar, and chat data remain on-device and are not transmitted to AI providers.

Legal basis: explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a), Art. 9(2)(a) for health data).

4. Data Storage and Retention

4.1 Local Storage

If AI cloud processing is disabled:

• all content remains on your device

• deletion occurs when you remove data or uninstall the app

We do not store this data externally.

4.2 iCloud Storage (Optional)

If enabled:

• chats stored in your iCloud account

• retention controlled by your Apple settings

• we cannot access this data

4.3 Telemetry

Anonymized technical telemetry may be retained up to 12 months, then deleted.

4.4 AI Provider Processing

If AI cloud processing is enabled:

• transmitted data is processed by OpenRouter and Groq

• retention governed by their privacy policy

• we do not store AI request content on our servers

5. App Permissions and Connected Data

Pocket may request the following permissions only when needed:

• Health — to access health data you select

• Reminders — to read reminders you choose

• Calendar — to read events you choose

• Camera / Photos / Files — for local processing

• iCloud (optional) — chat synchronization

Health, Reminders, and Calendar data are shared with AI providers only if AI cloud processing is enabled.

You can revoke permissions anytime in iOS Settings.

6. Data Transfers

If AI cloud processing is enabled, your data may be processed on servers outside the EU/EEA by TogetherAI.
Appropriate safeguards are provided by the provider under their privacy commitments.

If AI cloud processing is disabled, no such transfer occurs.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate safeguards:

• on-device processing by default

• encrypted transmission to AI providers

• minimal data sharing

• consent-based activation

• provider contractual privacy obligations

8. Your GDPR Rights

You have the right to:

• access your data

• correct inaccuracies

• request deletion

• restrict processing

• data portability

• object to processing

• withdraw consent anytime

You can exercise rights by:

• disabling AI cloud processing

• revoking permissions in iOS

• uninstalling the app

• contacting support@pckt.ai

We respond within one month.

9. Children’s Privacy

Pocket is not intended for users under 16.
We do not knowingly process children’s data.
Contact us if you believe such data was collected.

10. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect legal or product changes.
Material changes will be communicated in-app.
Continued use constitutes acceptance.

13. AI Processing Summary (Plain Language)

Pocket runs primarily on your device.
If you choose to enable AI cloud features, selected data — including Health, Reminders, Calendar, and text you provide — may be securely sent to an AI provider to generate responses.
You can turn this off at any time.
